Bankruptcy Information

This website provides bankruptcy education courses, not legal advice. Bankruptcy rules and case decisions can be complex, and a qualified attorney can explain how they apply to a particular situation.

The two education requirements

Pre-filing credit counseling is generally completed before filing. Post-filing debtor education is generally completed after filing and before discharge. Your attorney or the court can confirm the requirement for a specific case.

Chapter 7 and Chapter 13

Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 involve different legal processes, eligibility rules, property considerations, and obligations. Your Bankruptcy Partner does not decide which chapter a person should file.

Talk with an attorney about legal choices.

Course counselors provide the approved education and required contact process. They do not act as bankruptcy attorneys or provide legal strategy.
